Happy Monday fellow booklovers.

Some wonderful books have arrived at my doorstep these past few weeks.

Why the picture of the elephant above? Not only have I been reading more lately, but I finally picked up my hook and yarn and have been crocheting again. Hopefully my summer crocheting slump is over.




Onto my Mailbox Mondays:







The Girl Made of Cool. Author Alan Sean Fox contacted me about reading and reviewing his book, and I happily accepted. I'm currently reading this now.





The Life O'Reilly was sent to me by author Brian Cohen, and I look forward to reading this one. Suko raved about this one after she read it.








When author Donna Russo Morin contacted me about reading and reviewing The Secret of the Glass, I was thrilled. Historical fiction is one of my favorite genres.





I read Heartsick last year and really enjoyed it. So when I saw Sweetheart at the bookstore, in the clearance bin of all places, I really couldn't resist. I like finding a hardcover book for $2.50






Sourcebooks sent me an ARC of Emma and the Vampires. How could I resist?





Also from Sourcebooks, Lady of Hay by Barbara Erskine. Another historical fiction I can't wait to read.






Lisa over @ Online Publicist sent me a copy of To Your Dog's Health, which looks really interesting. I hope to find some sound advice to use for my Diego.








And I finally made my way back to the town public library and guess what? The only floor that was open was the childrens room because the rest of the library is being renovated. The good thing was that my children grabbed a few books for summer reading and I grabbed these two books for myself. I'll probably wind up reading these aloud to my daughter.




I grabbed a copy of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll. I think it's about time I read this one. The illustrations are great in this one, I'll definitely include them with my review.





I also grabbed Skellig by David Almond. I've heard good things about this one through fellow book bloggers.

Library Loot

Last time I went to the library was in March! I just have so many books in my TBR pile, I don't need to add to it, but I took a trip out there today and this is what I came home with.

1.

Blackbird House by Alice Hoffman I love her writing and plan on reading all her books, this one grabbed my eye.



2.


A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving (If i'm not mistaken, this one was highly recommended by Wisteria.



3.

Daughter of Fortune by Isabel Allende I was excited to stumble up on this one and just had to grab it. I've been wanting to read it.


So, that's it, just the three. I do plan on reading all three. Wish me luck!

Library Loot is a weekly event! The basic idea is to post your latest library picks. I went today to the local library in search of a few books for the challenges I'm participating in. I didn't find all of the ones I was looking for (i.e. Terry Pratchett or McCarthy), but I did find a few really good ones:





1. The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory: I really enjoy this authors work, so I want to read more.

2. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon: Romance, historical fiction with a dash of time travel/science fiction, how could I resist? lol

3. Heartsick by Chelsea Cain: I have heard soooo many good things about this one was was psyched when I saw it at the library.


4. American Gods by Neil Gaiman: I'm almost done with Stardust, and really enjoying it, I want more Gaiman!



These are all due back Feb.4th, lets see how much reading I can get done by then, if not I can always take them out for another two weeks.
