There's something magical in those old Ingmar Bergman movies, something about the way he tells the story, weaves the narration that draws a viewer in. 
So many directors attempt it, so few have succeeded. Among them, 1957's Wild Strawberries (Smultronstället) has always been a favourite of mine.

Note: The amazing Michelangelo Antonioni (1912 - 2007) would pass on the same day.
