I don't even know what to say in today's post, except TGIF!!




Whew! It's been a looooong and interesting week towards the end of summer. I finished up reading Bath Tangle, I felt tremors from an earthquake that hit Virginia, am now preparing to stay indoors this weekend due to the effects of Hurricane Irene and I caught Diego in this signature pose on my couch. Doesn't he look like he's doing yoga? He's such a little nut and never fails to make me laugh.

I'm so happy Friday is finally here.

I plan to relax this weekend and completely neglect my housework...well not completely neglect it, but just a little.



I'll be back next week with my review of Tout Sweet: Hanging Up My High Heels for a New Life in France by Karen Wheeler. I'll also be reviewing Bath Tangle by Georgette Heyer sometime in the upcoming week.



These past few weeks I've been very busy reading and crocheting. When my crochet muse visits, I try to get in as many projects as I can. I made a few scarves and some coaster sets. I'll leave you with a few photos. Enjoy your weekend :)

Hello everyone, TGIF. This Friday couldn't have come soon enough for me. Going back to work after vacation was not a fun thing.

This weekend I hope to catch up on blog hopping, get some reading in and most important of all, celebrate hubby's 39th birthday tomorrow.




I'll leave you with a few pics of Diego. He seems to think whenever I lounge on my couch to read or watch tv, it's an invite for him to jump on me. He's been known to actually throw himself onto whatever book I'm reading, in order to get some attention for himself.

Last night I was lying down on my couch reading Pretty by Jillian Lauren (which is really good so far by the way)...






...and this is what Diego was doing. I was on my side, and he threw himself onto my hip. He wound up falling asleep there.

Happy Friday everyone.

I figued I'd start the weekend off with a favorite poet.
I think the entire poem is lovely in such a simple way. Emily Dickinson had a way of creating beautiful imagery with her work.




On another note, it seems Blogger was having issues today. It does look like things are back to normal now. I did notice some of the comments on my last post have disappeared.

I'll be blog hopping this weekend as well as catching up on my reading and reviewing.
This past week I read When No One is Watching and thoroughly enjoyed it. My review will be up this coming week. My goal for this weekend is to finish at least one other book. I don't know which one yet, but wish me luck.

I think this is an interesting quote. I like finding passages that stand out while I'm reading a book. Quotes that I can personally relate to. It's these passages that make me feel connected to the story and make the book unforgettable for me.

Happy Friday everyone. Sorry I've been MIA this past week. I hope to catch up on my reading and blog hopping this weekend. Have a good one, what are you all up to?

It's Friday and I'll be curled up on my couch with a book as much as I can this weekend. It seems the major theme here lately is snow. We've had record breaking snow-fall this winter. My kids schools used up all thier alloted snow days already, now they are tapping into thier Spring break days when it snows and school is closed. And for tomorrow, yep, we've got more snow coming.



As far as reading goes, I'm in the middle of Gods Behaving Badly by Marie Phillips which is a funny story about ancient Greek gods living in modern time London. There's some romance and plenty of humor and though the story is really far-fetched, I like it so far!









I made the photo above over @ photo funia. Gerard's pic on my coffee cup would be an excellent way to start my snowy days :)

TGIF everyone. I'm sooooo glad the weekend is here. We actually had more snow here last night and the children lucked out today with a snow day. I did work, but am home already and looking forward to my weekend.

I hope to get some reading and even some crocheting done. Hubby & I rented the movie The Town, so we'll be watching that tonight. I've been wanting to see it.

As far as reading goes, I'm tweaking my review of Blood of My Brother and hope to have it up this coming week. I'm currently re-reading Wuthering Heights and am about halfway through.

Happy Friday everyone. I'm even more excited that it's Friday than usual because I've taken an extended day off work giving myself a three day weekend and I have nothing planned this weekend. These past few weeks we've had plans for each weekend, we had two birthday parties to go to and I had a bridal shower to attend.
It'll be nice to get a mini-break from all that hustle and bustle.




So, hubby and I were watching re-runs of SNL last night and the commercial for
My Big Friggin' Wedding came on. Now, I'm from Jersey and I despise these reality tv shows that give a bad name to people from New Jersey.




So, as the commercial was playing, I told hubby 'You gotta be friggin kidding me!' And then I started to complain about these trashy Jersey shows.

Haflway through my rant, my hubby was like 'Babe, you just said friggin like five times. So relax.'

My point? I may use the word friggin', and I'm from Jersey, but I'm not trashy. By the way, in case you don't know what friggin' means, It's a variation of the word 'freaking', which is used often instead of cursing and using the 'F' word.





These people are sooooo friggin' trashy, and I refuse to watch the show...lol.

p.s. on a bookish note, I'm completely immersed in Donna Russo Morin's book The Secret of the Glass.

It's a wonderfully woven story, a great historical that has me good and hooked.

I am sorry I've been M.I.A. this past week. I have been very busy with working extra hours. By the time I get home, cook dinner, help the children with homework, then get them ready for bed, I'm too beat to log on. My blogging has been put on the back burner.

Hello everyone, Happy Friday! I hope you all have a great weekend. I'll be doing some Halloween decorating around the house with the children this weekend and just relaxing for the most part. What will you be up to?



On another note, Fall is in the air and I love it. I wanted to post a few of my favorite things about this season today.

Here in no particular order, are my favorite things about the Fall.





1. Dunkin Donuts Pumpkin Muffins

OMG. I love these muffins. They are only available during this time of year. Hubby spoils me on Sunday mornings by bringing me one of these muffins and hot tea. Bliss.









2. Leave changing beautiful colors

They look so pretty during this time of year. The colors are so vibrant.








3. Halloween

Halloween and everything that comes along with it. My kids in their Halloween costumes, scary movies, programs about ghostly encounters, scary movie countdown shows i.e. VHI Greatest Horror Movies. I'm a big fan of scary movies and enjoying watching them this time of the year.









4. Apple Picking

Every year we take the children apple picking. It's tradition. Then we use the apples to bake pies and muffins.











5. Fall Weather Wear

I'm a big fan of simple scarves, sweaters and boots.








6. Cuddling up on my couch reading a scary story. Preferably with my hubby.



I tend to read more of the horror genre during this time of year. It's also the only time I'll pull out my copy of Poe's work and read some of his creepy stories. I prefer to read him during the Fall/Winter months.

Hubby is usually sitting next to me watching football or one of his fav tv programs.
