From the Cambridge Times:

Organizers of the Grand River Film Festival are saying thanks, but no thanks to City of Cambridge and the $25,000 red-flagged for the event.

We feel that the $25,000 which was set aside in the January budget for the festival, could be and should be used for other community-based initiatives," said Terry.

He said the decision to reduce the scale of the festival and financial support pledged by the private sector has reduced the need for funding from the city.

Kudos to the Grand River Film Festival, who didn't just take the money offered because it was offered.
