I've decided to post my Reading Challenges for 2008 & try to get a bit organized here. I'm a Reading Challenge Addict as you can see :)
Here goes (any text with a line through it means I've read the selection):
1.
Numbers Challenge
The challenge is to read 5 books whose titles have a number in them from Jan 1, 2008 to June 1, 2008 This includes written numbers like "one" or "forty."
Here's my picks (re-done):
- 1984 by by George Orwell
- Fahrenheit 451 by by Ray Bradbury
- A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
- 44 Scotland Street by Alexander Mccall Smith
-One for the Money by Janet Evanovich
2.
Mini Austen Challenge
'These "mini-challenges" are not as open-ended as most challenges. But they're not strict either. One would be to read and/or watch at least two Jane Austen novels/movies in 2008. Masterpiece Theatre is showing all 6 movies in the 2008 season. I am going to be aiming for all 6. But if you want to just watch two movies and blog about them, that is fine too.'
My choices are: - To re-read 'Pride & Prejudice' just because I haven't read it in a few years and it's one of my favorites. I own the DVD so I can watch it and compare it to the book.
- to read and watch the movie versions of 'Mansfield Park', 'Persuasion' & 'Northanger Abbey'
- to re-read 'Sense & Sensibility' and watch the movie version
3.

For this challenge you should....

** OPTIONAL: Create a list of 12 "Alternates" (books you could substitute for your challenge books, given that a particular one doesn't grab you at the time)
** Then, starting January 1, 2008, read one of these books from your list each month, ending December 31, 2008. :o)
The books on the other challenges can fit this, as well as my TBR list on my blog sidebar.
