The nutty stories from the fluffy world of celebrities.

Happy Birthday goes out this week to, in my opinion, the best Bond - Pierce Brosnan. Brosnan turned 55 on Friday, too young to be put to pasture by the heartless bureaucrats at MI5 (but way old for action movies).

This weeks Led Zeppelin rumour, courtesy of the fine folks at Ramble On, is a beauty:

Led Zeppelin to play Toronto in August?

Now that David Coverdale has denied ever claiming Zeppelin will tour this fall and Whitesnake will be there, comes a report of four shows scheduled for Toronto in August.

I have read another report that suggested four shows between Aug 20 and 27th, two at the Skydome/Rogers Centre and two the the Air Canada Centre.
Finally, farewell to original Rush drummer John Rutsey.

Rutsey, who left the band soon after the release of their first album in 1974 due to difficulty he had touring. Rutsey had severe diabetes. It would be the diabetes that eventually felled him, and he passed this week at age 55. Other original members, Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee had the following to say at the news:

Our memories of the early years of Rush when John was in the band are very fond to us. Those years spent in our teens dreaming of one day doing what we continue to do decades later are special. Although our paths diverged many years ago, we smile today, thinking back on those exciting times and remembering John's wonderful sense of humour and impeccable timing. He will be deeply missed by all he touched
Deepest condolences to family and friends of John Rutsey.
