current reads:

I've been reading Persuasion by Jane Austen. So far so good... Wentworth is a hottie. Anne Elliot and Wentworth meet and quicky fall in love and become engaged, However Anne is foolish enough to let her friend persuade her to break it off with Wentworth.
Eight years later, Wentworth returns, a wealthy captain in the navy,
but Anne's family is about to go bankrupt.

Anne never stopped loving him, but feels all hope of winning him back is lost.

*sigh*

Also on the nightstand, Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman.

Practical Magic is a story of two sisters, Gillian and Sally Owens, being raised by thier aunts. Everyone knows that the Owens women are witches.

Sally & Gillian are as different as night and day. Sally has always just wanted a normal life. She doesn't want to be known as a witch. Gillian is a wild child, and ends up leaving town, traveling and having several love affairs. Until one day when she is in deep trouble, she returns to her sister's home in need of help. It's a great read, I enjoyed the movie version as well, but the movie and book are different in many ways.

Alice Hoffman has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I read 'The Ice Queen' recently and really enjoyed it. She writes these beautiful lines that have you going back to re-read them.

'Wishes are brutal, unforgiving things. They burn your tongue the moment they're spoken and you can never take them back. They bruise and bake and come back to haunt you.' -The Ice Queen

enjoy your Sunday! let me know what you are currently reading.
