They strolled through Berlin like extraterrestrials. Eva told Klara when it all ended. They walked through streets that were once Klara's, that belonged to both of them but that they hadn't set foot on in twenty-eight years: men, women, children, more astonished than moved, walking through the city as if they were making a trip to a planet they dreamed of but never saw.
