The Moschino Fall collection was astounding. To me it was like Coco Chanel and Mick Jagger's love-child, born in the late 80s in Texas. The elegance of Chanel skirt-suits, mixed in with rock'n'roll leather fringing and studs teamed with cowboy hats and waist-clinching belts. Every model who graced the catwalk was wearing huge sunglasses throughout and pillar-box red lipstick. Mysterious and intriguing. As the collection continued, different trends were appearing, colours like fuschia pink and orange being added towards the end, a hint of Moulin Rouge-esque lace and boning, patterned Winter coats and gold hoop jewellery hanging from the ears and stitched on the pieces.  This collection did not lack anything of interest as everything from leopard-print to thick horizontal stripes were presented, Rosella Jardini was aiming this at the more daring Moschino buyers, designing classic pieces, then adding an edge to them by adding studs and fringing.
The only thing I would criticize about this collection for, are the 'Moschino' waist-belts. I've never had a liking for them. I dislike pieces with the designers logo/name sprawled out on them. I find it tacky, so the black leather belts with 'Moschino' attached to them with gold lettering really don't appeal to me. Well, each to their own I guess.
I've been looking through the Fall collections, and I'm seeing repetitive trends in some of the designs. Animal-prints, unusual necklines, metallics (mainly gold), leather and coloured piping will be appearing everywhere this Autumn. The 1960s seem to be the era of next season, with shift dresses and A-line skirts appearing all over the catwalks, so keep your eyes peeled now and buy key pieces in the Summer sales now to wear next season!
