Heard an interesting story yesterday. A young man walks by a store (LBJ jeans) and notices our t-shirt on display. The salesman told me this same person stood by the display window for approximately two minutes staring at the t-shirt as well as the other brands that were on display. He finally enters the store. "What is that red shirt with the clown on it" asks the young man, the salesman says "that's The Underground Clown, the newest t-shirt line." The salesman hands him a shirt, the
young man examines it. The salesman then shows him more products from The Underground
Clown such as our Trucker hats and Fitted Hats made by New Era. The salesman gives him the proper sized t-shirt, the young man goes to the cashier, pays for his merchandise and leaves the store. "I forgot tell you they are Brooklyn Based T-shirt company, all of the merchandise is made right here on US soil." Looking at the salesman, the young man said "thank you" and walked out of the store. I asked the salesman if the young man was impressed knowing that the t-shirt he just purchased was made in the U.S., his reply was "No, he was not from this country." it might not have been important to the young man who made the purchase but to us it is. As a consumer we are told to "Buy American". Then when you do buy "American" after doing research, you find out that the item you purchased was in fact made in another country. Ever call you wireless service provider to solve a problem and you speak to someone in another country? Ironically, the company says it happens to be an American based company but outsources to another country. Whatever it takes to save money I guess but at least let the consumer know that you do have facilities out of the country for financial reasons. You will gain more respect like that.
Here at The Underground Clown, we believe in integrity. Therefore, if we choose to outsource to another country, we will let our consumers know. We believe in the "Buy American" campaign. Therefore, ALL of our products is made in America. On to the next...
