I went to see Shutter Island on opening night on a girls night out, and truly enjoyed this creepy, gothic movie. Marshall Teddy Daniels and his new partner are sent to investigate the disappearance of a female patient in a maximum security hospital for the criminally insane located on Shutter Island. As soon as they arrive on the island, Teddy begins to have vivid nightmares and visions of his dead wife as well as other things from his past. As the investigation goes on, there are plenty of plot twists and turns as you begin to wonder what's real and what's not.

I can't give away the plot too much because it would spoil it, but go see Shutter Island! Directed by Martin Scorsese, the atmosphere throughout the movie was perfectly dark and creepy. The island itself is like a character in the film, menacing and scary. You as the viewer are trying to solve the mystery as the film progresses on this isolated island. This movie had me on the edge of my seat, the suspense just kept building up. There were dimly lit hospital corridors, ghosts, insane patients and a hurricane like storm on the island to top it all off.
The casting was wonderful, Leonardo DiCaprio did an amazing job as usual.
