We are all excited for the first week of the regular season. Cross David Garrard off that list. The Jaguars released the veteran QB on Tuesday after a 8-8 season. Jacksonville says they plan to start Luke McCown on Sunday against the Titans. The only question I have is, why now? Why when the season is under a week away? I'm not saying that Garrard is an elite QB (he threw for 16,000 yards, 89 touchdowns, and 54 interceptions in his nine year career with the Jaguars) but he does give this team the best chance to win. I predicted the Jaguars to go 8-8 this season and now without Garrard, they would be lucky to achieve a winning record. The Jaguars also said they made this move to clear cap space, but it sure won't help head coach Jack Del Rio keep his job.
