Man(ning) down

Brett Favre holds the consecutive start streak for a QB with 297 straight starts. It seems that streak will stay in tact for some time now. Colts QB Peyton Manning, who has the best active streak in the NFL, will not play on Sunday against the Texans. Manning had two neck surgeries in the offseason and with the lockout, Manning was unable to seek proper treatment with the team doctors. Arguably the best QB in the league, Manning has thrown for 54,828, 399 touchdowns, and 198 interceptions in his 13 year career with the Colts. The offense that Manning has made one of the best in league history is not an easy one to grasp, but Kerry Collins will try to do his best when he starts in Houston on September 11th. The Colts talked Collins out of retirement and signed him two weeks ago. In his only preseason action, Collins went 5-10 with 45 yards and a fumble against the Bengals. While the Colts and their fans aren't happy to hear this, the Texans sure are, who have only beat the Colts twice in their franchise history with Manning under center.
