Some players are enjoying the lockout, some more then others. Rashard Mendenhall tweeted many questionable comments about Osama Bin Laden's death and about the 9/11 attacks. I am not going to reflect about each comment he made, but if you want to read all of them
click here. In a nutshell, Mendenhall said that we shouldn't be celebrating the death of a fellow person and questioned the 9/11 attacks. Its a very sensitive subject wether you agree with Mendenhall or not. It is a mystery why Mendenhall had to say what he did. Drew Brees also tweeted about the subject, but didn't anything contreversial. I wonder if the players during the lockout are saying these contreversial comments just to get attention.
Reggie Bush has also left some interesting comments on twitter, not as bad as Rashard Mendenhall but at the least interesting. Again, I'm not going to analyze each tweet and figure out if he was in his first amendment rights. We talk football here not politics. Read them
here if you are interested. To sum it up for Bush, he says he is enjoying the lockout because of extra vacation time. Many other players are enjoying the lockout and former head coach Herm Edwards talks about it
here. If I were a player in the NFL I would not be enjoying this lockout considering that the owners might make sure that you don't get a paycheck. Bush not only tweeted about the lockout, but after the Saints drafted Mark Ingram Bush basically said farewell to New Orleans. If you start saying goodbye to your team like that, you might get confused with Lebron James.
Finally our last tweeter of the day, A.J. Hawk. Like Bush, Hawk also talked about the lockout. Many players like Larry Fitzgerald and Drew Brees have organized player only workouts. While many NFL analysts have deemed this a good thing, Hawk says the workouts are a disaster. Which could be true thanks to the lockout. No coaches are allowed contact with the players which could make for some chaotic workouts. Nevertheless, I think players are doing the right thing by making the best of this lockout. Hawk is crazy if he thinks everything will go smoothly during these uncertain times. Just another reason for all players to think before they tweet.
