title: Memoirs Of Fanny Hill
author: John Cleland
genre: erotica/classic
pages: 106
published: 1749
first line: I sit down to give you an undeniable proof of my considering your desires as indispensable orders.
rated: naughty/X-rated
Memoirs Of Fanny Hill
has been called the first pornographic book and it is one of the most banned books ever.
I stumbled upon Memoirs Of Fanny Hill on my iTouch Classic Books app. Would I consider it a classic? I'd consider it classic porn, which is a genre I've never read.
The story is written in two parts. In the first part of the story we get to know Frances Hill and how she became a prostitute at a young age. She was born to a poor family in Liverpool. At age fifteen, both her parents died of smallpox.
She was brought to London by a family friend and is abandoned there.
Fanny is looking to work as a housemaid and stumbles unknowingly upon a whorehouse run by a Mrs. Brown who takes Fanny in and tells her her 'maidenhead' will fetch a good price.
On Fanny's first night, she has a sexual encounter with her female roommate.
Every part of me was open and exposed to the licentious courses of her hands, which, like a lambent fire, ran over my whole body, and thawed all coldness as they went.
After narrowly escaping being raped by a paying customer, Fanny is happy to be under Mrs. Browns care. Some time passes and she is told what is expected of her, the details of what she is to do with clients are explained to her by the rest of her housemates. She is afraid of sex at first, but after peeping in on a few couples having sex, Fanny can hardly wait to try it herself with a man.
Fanny unexpectedly meets Charles, a young man who is well-off, and he offers to take her away with him. She leaves the brothel with Charles the next day. She later refers to him as her Adonis and the sweet relenting murderer of my virginity.
Once Charles steps into the story, there are some romantic scenes as Fanny actually falls in love with him. Doesn't this sound like something out of the romance novels written today?
Charles had just slipped the bolt of the door, and running, caught me in his arms, and lifting me from the ground, with his lips glued to mine, bore me trembling, panting, dying with soft fears and tender wishes, to the bed; where his impatience would not suffer him to undress me, more than just unpinning my handkerchief and gowns, and unlacing my stays.
When Charles unexpectedly leaves Fanny, she is left three months pregnant, heartbroken and with no money.
Fanny continues to live the life of a prostitute, but as time passes, she becomes smarter. In the second half of the story we see a more experienced Fanny. By the end of the story, she is nineteen years old.
Throughout the book she recollects her many lovers and sexual encounters. There is plenty of sex in the plot. Same sex partners, light bondage and lashings, to a full-on orgy are all in the storyline. Voyeurism was a sort of past-time for a few of the characters in this story, they always seemed to find a peep-hole available. It's all very scandalous and shocking, especially considering this book was written in 1749. (way before my beloved Pride & Prejudice)
This was a spicy read, even by today's standards. I'm surprised that he wrote the story without any outright vile language.
I found the writing to be well done. John Cleland would definitely give some erotic fiction writers a run for their money. However, I did laugh at some of the word use. The author uses the funniest names while referring to the male form. The engine of love assaults, enormous machine, IT, staff of love and object of terror and delight, just to name a few.
He describes female pubic hair as the richest sable fur in the universe. I'm sorry, but I laughed out loud while reading that!
Like I said, some of the writing was really good, the sex scenes went on and on.
Here's an example:
Then began the driving tumult on his side, and the responsive heaves on mine, which kept me up to him; whilst, as our joys grew too great for utterance, the organs of our voices, voluptuously intermixing, became organs of the touch... how delicious!... how poignantly luscious!... And now! now I felt, to the heart of me! I felt the prodigious keen edge, with which love, presiding over this act, points the pleasure: love! that may be styled the Attic salt of enjoyment; and indeed, without it, the joy, great as it is, is still a vulgar one, whether in a king or a beggar; for it is, undoubtedly, love alone that refines, ennobles, and exalts it.
All in all, this was an unexpected read for me and I enjoyed it enough to keep reading. I finished it in two sittings. It was bawdy and scandalous and I did wonder what would become of Fanny.
I read that author John Cleland and the publishers and printer of Fanny Hill were arrested shortly after publication. The novel of course, continued to sell in pirated forms. Sex does sell, no matter what century we're in.
Lifted then to the utmost pitch of joy that human life can bear, undestroyed by excess, I touched that sweetly critical point, whence scarce prevented by the injection from my partner, I dissolved, and breaking out into a deep drawn sigh, sent my whole sensitive soul down to that passage where escape was denied it, by its being so deliciously plugged and choked up.

Enchanted Dreams Erotic Tales of the Supernatural
author: Nancy Madore
genre: erotica
pages: 328
published: 2009
rated: 3 1/2 out of 5
There are seven erotic supernatural stories in this collection. There's vampires, aliens, ghosts and even fairies involved in the stories. If you're a fan of this genre, and like the supernatural, you'll probably enjoy this one. Among my favorites were The Enchanted Forest, where a woman on a hike trips and bumps her head then wanders upon a beautiful section of the forest where nothing is what it seems. I liked this first story in the collection, it was an erotic fairytale. You can see this story depicted on the front cover of the book. I also enjoyed Disenchantment, where a woman on a blind date finally meets the man of her dreams. But when she explains how she feels about love and relationships, he sets out to prove her wrong. This one had a creepy twist at the end that I had no idea was coming. I also liked Dying For It, where a shy woman falls in love with a vampire.
The other stories are Expecting, Flowers for Angela, Jimmy and The Incentive Program. This was an interesting collection because of the supernatural elements added to the stories. I really didn't like Expecting too much, mainly because aliens creep me out and I don't see how they can be added to an erotic story. But for the most part, I found this to be a good collection.
Finding the little alcove filled Catherine with a sense of well-being. She was beginning to think that this forest was really enchanted. It certainly was the most enchanting place that she had ever been. She went to work immediately, gathering more leaves from the ground outside the cave and stuffing them into the corner where she planned to sleep. As she rushed to prepare her little nest before it became too dark, she suddenly caught, from the corner of her eye, the sparkle from a lightning bug.
- The Enchanted Forest
She was still laughing when his lips touched hers, brushing them ever so lightly at first, but the laughter suddenly died in her throat, because he really did kiss her then, just like he said, with a full fledged, no-holds-barred, French, Italian and Portuguese all in one, grandaddy of a kiss. She clung to his shoulders for support. His strong arms held her up as his hands moved possesively over her back and hips. His lips and tongue seemed to be consuming her.
-Disenchantment
Special thanks to Nancy Madore for sending me a signed copy of her book! The cover on this book is beautiful.

title: Enchanted Again
author: Nancy Madore
genre: erotica
pages: 328
published: 2008
rated:
stories: 4 out of 5
steamy sex scenes: 5 out of 5!
Following the overwhelming success of Enchanted, author Nancy Madore has responded to her fans' pleas for a follow-up with a brilliant second collection—this time comprised of superbly sensual, delightfully debauched and decidedly darker modern-day interpretations of classic nursery rhymes.
Meet Dan, the handyman whose toolbox is full of surprises… Georgie Porgie, no longer the boy who's content with only kissing girls… Jessica, who, torn between two men, may be lured into the wrong web… Peter, whose wife's wandering eye arouses his libido… As well as an interesting assortment of characters who will entertain and arouse the adult in you…
When author Nancy Madore contacted me about reading and reviewing her book, Enchanted Again, I was thrilled.
The stories included are:
Birds of a Feather: Married woman Pansy is having an affair with a bad boy who likes to dominate her. But Pansy soon tires of being treated badly by her police officer husband and her lover as well. Several scenes were shocking!
Curly Locks: What happens when your friend envies your life, wealth and husband? She steals all that away from you. I think this story creeped me out the most.
Desperate Dan: Dan is the local handyman who is going around his small town doing all the ladies' house repairs. When a Claire moves into town, she is curious about Dan, and soon finds out what kind of 'repairs' he does.
Georgie Porgie: What happens when Georgie breaks the wrong girls' heart? That girl hexes him, but she soon finds out that she herself isn't all that different from Georgie.
Hot Cross Buns: This is a story about a woman who is in a relationship with a dominant man. Is she ready to let him take total control?
Little Miss Muffet: Jessica wants her boyfriend to commit, so she makes the mistake of trying to make him jealous by going out with another man.
But her boyfriend is keeping a secret from her.
Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater: Peter is suspicious of his wife. She takes showers before he gets home from work, she throws her clothes into the washing machine and she erases all the internet history on their computer. He obsessively wonders what she is hiding from him. Yet his wife realizes she likes making him jealous.
Humpty Dumpty: Joe has a track record of bad relationships. Yet there always seems to be another woman waiting to mend his broken heart.
I really liked this collection. Nancy Madore has quite the imagination. She has taken inspiration from fairy tales and added some spice to them to create a collection of stories that are sexy, raunchy and sometimes scary! All the stories were good, my favorites were Georgie Porgie and
Curly Locks. I highly recommend this book to any fans of this genre, but this book is not for the timid.

genre: erotica
first line: Have you ever wanted to put yourself in the hands of a man whose sole purpose is to give you pleasure?

storyline: 4 out of 5
love scenes: HOT 5 out of 5 (can I give it a 6?)
Cable sex talk show host Morgan O'Malley, has a stalker after her. In fear of her safety, she moves from LA to New Orleans to stay with her half-brother Andrew. Morgan & Andrew are pretending to be a couple, turns out thier father is a big time politician and Morgan is his love-child. No one can know Morgan is Andrew's sister.
While in New Orleans she meets bodyguard Jack Cole..a.k.a. Master J. Jack is a self-proclaimed dominant. She plans on interviewing Jack for her show, but Morgan is attracted to him right away. However, Jack has plans of his own. Turns out he has a score to settle with Andrew. Thinking Morgan is Andrews ladyfriend, he figures seducing her is the perfect revenge.
Jack winds up taking Morgan to his isolated cabin for a few days to keep her safe. Being a bodyguard, he is committed to protecting her and finding her stalker. But Jack has more than just finding Morgan's stalker on his mind. 'His mouth covered hers with a searing kiss. No, he did more than cover her mouth. He devoured, consumed, possesed. Morgan opened to him, accepting the hungry thrust of his tongue, which delivered the spice of his taste and the heat of his need in a devastating dance of seduction. Her knees weakened in seconds. His passion had the kick of cayenne pepper, balanced with the sweetness of honey, caged in control of steel. Unique. Intoxicating. She moaned into his mouth, and he swallowed the hungry sound.'
And *ahem* Jacks best friend and business partner Deke, comes to help find Morgan's stalker. And he winds up joining them in bed as well. I liked Morgan & Jack's characters. The plot was good. The love scenes go on for pages....it's hot!
If you enjoy reading erotica, this is the book for you. It's full of steamy love scenes, the dailogue between Morgan and Jack is pretty intense. There's a few O-M-G moments plus some ménage & bondage thrown in. Author Shayla Black has quite the imagination.
'And if Jack was just using her for sex....well, why couldn't she use him too? A mad sex scientist in decadent bedroom experiment. He was absolutley no hardship to look at, and when he was buried inside her, the pleasure was intense enough to make her lose her mind.'

author: Kathleen Dante
title: Enticed

genre: paranormal erotic romance
first sentence: A hot extraction barely sped his pulse these days.

story line: 4 out of 4 :
steamy love scenes: 5 out of 5:
'Special ops agent Dillon Gavin is taking a break from his demanding schedule when his life takes an unexpected-and complicated-turn. Her name is Jordan Kane, a beautiful artist. Legally blind, she paints with her inner eye-which affords her an uncanny, and sometimes breathtaking, clairvoyance. What she sees in Dillon-comfortable in an unpredictable world of intrigue, espionage, and brute violence-is the kind of man that an artistic, gentle soul like Jordan never experienced before. Her sixth sense tells her that Dillon wants her. Her common sense says stay away.'
You know, I've become a Kathleen Dante fan. It's very unexpected, but it is true.
I really enjoyed this read. It wasn't as steamy as Entangled, it was milder.
I enjoyed Entangled, but Enticed has more story line to it. The first love scene doesn't happen till after page 70. They took thier time and it was romantic. And there's plenty of romantic tension between Jordan and Dillon. It was sweet.
'He'd drawn her attention like a soft melody that teased her ears into listening, dominating her senses with his mere presence, so much that the others in the room faded into faceless blurs-her clairvoyance responding to her interest. His deep-set black eyes had turned dreamy or glittered in slitted response to some thought as he stalked among her artwork. A strong chin, slashing brows, an aristrocatic-almost Roman- nose, high cheekbones, and well formed lips, her fingers itched to trace.'
Agent Dillon Gavin, Lantis' best friend, is taking a mini vacation from work. Lantis and Kiera (from Entangled) are now married and expecting a baby.
Beautiful artist Jordan Kane, meets Dillon at her gallery, and there is an attraction right away, but Jordan is very reserved. She is also blind and a clairvoyant, so she can 'see' with her inner eye. She 'sees' what Dillon looks like and knows how dangerous his line of work is. Jordan lives with her cat, Timothy, and her cousin Dan. Dillon decided he wants to seduce Jordan, but knows he needs to take it slow. Jordans cat Timothy actually has a main part in the story, he's got his own 'character' and personality.
As the story goes on, Lantis and Kiera and also involved in the plot. And Dillon ends up having to protect Jordan from harm. The story does have mystery & suspense to it as well as the romance. There is also magic involved, just like in 'Entangled'.
I'm going to have to get a copy of Dreamwalker, K. Dante's latest novel.

author: Kathleen Dante
title:
Entangled
genre: paranormal erotic romance
pages: 308
first line: John Atlantis prowled the narrow confines of the clairfield spell, its precise metal curliques inlaid into the floor, as he awaited Dillonn's summons.
'What's in a woman's heart...
Brilliant executive Kiera Stevens finds herself in a vulnerable position when she suspects insider espionage. Someone she trusts is stealing company secrets and threatening her professional future. What she needs is an undercover man... '
Okay, now this was my first time reading this genre. I bought this book, plus her second book as well, I figured, the covers looked pretty good, so what the heck, live a little. One thing is for sure, author Kathleen Dante has one heck of an imagination :P
Um, I didn't expect it to be this...graphic. But it was tastefully done and oddly addictive...lol. The story line was good, one unexpected thing to the story was that there is 'magic' involved.
Kiera, the head of a toy making corporation, hires a security expert named John Atlantis a.k.a. Lantis, to find a leak in the security system. Lantis turns out to be tall, dark and handsome. He and Kiera are both single. Kiera is also gorgeous and looking for a good man.
Kiera is a healer and Lantis can work magic through his thoughts, the two quickly become involved.
'She was as sweet as he remembered. No, sweeter. Heady as a straight shot of wiskey and twice as potent on an empty stomach. He sank into the kiss, in her scent. The combination of vanilla and musk that was uniquely Kiera's. The scent of home.'
I like that there was a story line to it that was interesting. There's some mystery and suspense to it, thrown in with the paranormal. I found the main characters Kiera & Lantis, to be likeable, a believeable couple. There are a few other characters thrown in there as well, mostly Kiera's best girlfriend & her friend Dillon, whom the next book 'Enticed' is about.
I give this one 2 seperate ratings:
5 for the steamy love scenes:
4 for the story line:
I'll be reading Kathleen Dante's second book, 'Enticed', and reviewing it as well.
