NOW THIS SEN. RON JOHNSON, (WINGNUT-WI) IS TRYING TO REVIVE THE MYTH, THE S.O.B. IS SAYING THAT HIS DAUGHTER’S PRE-EXISTING CONDITION WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN CARED FOR IF GOVERNMENT RAN INSURANCE POLICIES.
How terribly misguided and wrong he is. To think that because he is a wealthy man he could afford the best care while the rest of us are subject to the REAL DEATH PANELS forced on us by insurance companies.
His stament was: “I don't even want to think what might have happened if she had been born at a time and place where government defined the limits for most insurance policies and set precedents [sic] on what would be covered. Would the life-saving procedures that saved her have been deemed cost-effective by policy makers deciding where to spend increasingly scarce tax dollars?”
So just pretend that Johnson isn't obscenely wealthy, and pretend that his daughter loses her job and is not married to someone with good insurance. In a world without the Affordable Care Act, she's shit out of luck. She has a pre-existing and very expensive lifelong heart condition that no insurer would be willing to take on. That's what happens for the 98 percent of people with pre-existing conditions who aren't in Johnson's tax bracket. For most Americans, medical miracles aren't so easy to obtain.
That is why we do have DEATH PANELS and the Health Care Reform has tried to fix that, much to the chagrin of Republican-Teahadists who insist in benefiting the Insurance Companies at the expense of the general public. Never mind that these insurers don’t perform any useful function, never mind that they are only intermediaries placed there to skim off the excess price tags they put on premiums. Never mind that the Insurance Companies exist for the sole purpose of making a profit and taking no risks. THEY ARE FUCKING PARASITES!
I thought that taking a risk was what insurance was all about. Well, I guess that in America that is not the case. I was wrong.
