plot: Set in northern Australia before World War II, an English aristocrat who inherits a sprawling ranch reluctantly pacts with a stock-man in order to protect her new property from a takeover plot. As the pair drive 2,000 head of cattle over unforgiving landscape, they experience the bombing of Darwin, Australia, by Japanese forces firsthand.

I've been wanting to see this one so badly and finally went this week. Oh my gosh, it was so good. It's got drama, romance and some humor as well.
Lady Sarah Ashley (Nicole Kidman) arrives in Australia and inherits a huge cattle station, Drover (Hugh Jackman) appears on the scene as her guide. When her cattle are taken away from her, she hires Drover, to help her get them back.
There is also Nullah, a half white half Aborigine young boy who is an intricate part of the story. As the story goes on Lady Ashley and Drover form a romance.
I love that there were references to the Wizard of Oz and that some scenes reminded me of Gone With the Wind. I'm a sucker for drama and romance, and this movie did it perfectly. Loved it.
I'm a big fan of Hugh Jackman and I like Nicole Kidman as well, so the casting was great.
