While the Colts have dominated this division by winning it almost every year, the Texans have the best fantasy talent. If Titans fans are made at me for leaving CJ2KY off this list, just listen to his contract negotiations, I don't see this guy starting anytime soon...
Premier Fantasy Players
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster- Many leagues were won because of this guy and he could be the best fantasy player of 2011. Foster had a NFL leading 16 total touchdowns while also scoring 326 points. I don't think that Foster can duplicate last season (I mean, who can?) but I'm sure he can come close. Foster is projected to score 273.20 points, which is a very large drop from last year, but he still is the best RB in fantasy football. If you have the #1 overall pick in your draft, pick this guy, or you will be regretting it the rest of the season if you don't.
Houston Texans WR Andre Johnson- With Foster in the backfield and Johnson out wide, the Texans are one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL. Johnson is the best WR in the NFL and in fantasy football. Even though he has never had a season with at least 10 touchdown passes, he is a force to be reckoned with no matter what secondary he faces. The Texans and Johnson played in a lot of shootouts last year because of that horrible defense, but the star WR only scored 170.60 points last season. Its a new season and 2011 comes with bigger expectations for the Texans and Johnson. His 214.50 point projection seems spot on for this high caliber WR. Johnson will be the first WR taken in most drafts because he is a top five WR that does not have questions at QB.
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew- While he is short, Jones-Drew is one of the most dominant and consistent fantasy players (and probably the only one with his own fantasy football radio show). Jones-Drew is also in a division that that doesn't have stellar rushing defenses, so starting Jones-Drew during those six games can help you win your league. Jones-Drew was injured for some of 2010, but he still did score 200.10 and if he can stay health all 16 games this season, he will come close to his projected 265.70 points. We always say that football games are won on the field and not paper, so Jones-Drew might have something to prove when it comes to his injury risks. He can go anyway from round 2 to 7, so if you feel like you can get him for the right price, taking him can be a real difference for you in 2011.
Jacksonville Jaguars TE Marcedes Lewis- While David Garrard isn't the best QB in the league, having Lewis sure doesn't hurt. Lewis had a monster season last year and had 10 touchdowns and 126 points. Lewis' projections are nowhere near his numbers from last season (74.60 points) but he is a dominant TE and probably the best pass-catching option the Jaguars have. TE is a really deep position this year in fantasy football, so if you want to wait on picking one, Lewis will be there late in the draft.
Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne- While Peyton Manning's health remains a big question in Indy, all dominant WR's make whoever is at QB look good (whether it is Curtis Painter or Kerry Collins). Wayne is a dominant WR and I'm sure he will be dominant every chance he gets, which is evident in his projected 187.30 points, which is an improvement from last years 169.50 points. I'm not confident that Wayne could carry a team at WR, but he could be a nice substitution option if you are able to draft him.
Sleepers
Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning- One of the best QB's in this games history is a sleeper? What is this (fantasy football) world coming to? Manning is no longer considered your #1 option at QB for one reason, health. The Colts already talked one QB out of retirement (no, it wasn't Brett Favre) to maybe take Manning's place for week 1, or for how long he misses. If you do end up drafting Manning, keep him as a #2 option and if you see a glimpse of greatness, move him into a starting position.
Tennessee Titans WR Kenny Britt- He might be facing a suspension by the NFL, but Britt could be a main target for new QB Matt Hasselbeck. Britt is projected to score 145.60 points in 2011, which is low among other WR's you can draft, but in a deep league he could make for a great steal. Just don't draft him to high, or you will look like a fool.
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Mike Thomas- With the departure of Mike Sims-Walker to St. Louis, Thomas could be the best WR available for QB David Garrard to go to. I suggested earlier that Marcedes Lewis could be the best pass catching option for the Jaguars, but you need effectiveness at WR if you want to win in this league. Thomas is supposed to score 139.40 points, which is an improvement from last year, but I'm not sure if you should draft him unless you are in a deep league.
