Could a gay be “cured” and made straight?
What would be the objective, what is the motivation, what is it that makes some people so enthralled in “curing” homosexuality and yet, they spend endless hours of work and endeavor to condemn and persecute the gays…would you not then ask…if you love us like you claim you do, why do you want to change us? Why do you insist in humiliation and discrimination? Is it too much to ask that you follow the teachings of that Christ whom you also claim to love?
You hear about all these outlandish efforts to “reprogram” gays and cure them. As if gay people were computers that one can reprogram. Gays are human beings, with feelings, expectations, and goals and yes, even the pursuit of happiness as are most heterosexuals. Is it then even acceptable that these morons seek to “cure” something that one is born with just like one is left handed or blond?
What does it take to make these people understand that what they are doing is far more odious and repugnant than what we are? Furthermore, if there is a God, would you not think that he looks upon these people with a much more admonishing eye than he looks upon gays since he made gays that way and religious fanatics learned to be bigots?
You are well aware of Michelle Bachmann and her husband running these “reparative, cure the gays” schemes in their clinic…surely it must be profitable since there are so many gays who have this religious induced guilt trip and society being what it is, also contributes to reject them and humiliate them. But make no mistake about it…and this has been documented and supported by all reputable scientific studies and professional medical opinions…trying to “cure” a gay of its affliction is like trying to hold back the tide…and it is not an illness, not something that you can prescribe a medicine or a pill in order to cure.God made the tiger with stripes and the leopard with spots.
I recoil at the thought of even the remote probability of Michelle Bachmann becoming President of the United States. Can you imagine someone who doesn’t have the intellect to even understand scientific data, research and proof that the world is older than 6,000 years and that if they hold those views that make them totally unfit to run for higher office? Hell that makes them unacceptable to even run for dog catcher.
I think as Americans, we are tolerant of different religions and we do so by reaffirming what our Founding Fathers envisioned on this subject: THE SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE, not the creation of a THEOCRACY. I say: You can believe in whatever you opt to believe in…be it little green unicorns from Tasmania and hang from a chandelier in order to worship them…but the moment you claim higher ground and run for office and decide that I am inferior to you because I am different, you get together with other people of the same mind set and begin to make laws that affect me negatively…then I say: FUCK YOU EVANGELICAL-FUNDAMENTALIST ASSHOLES, I put my foot down and you can’t humiliate me nor make me feel bad…that is what GAY PRIDE is about…go peddle your venom somewhere else…Eleanor Roosevelt said that “nobody can humiliate you without your consent” and I don’t give Michelle Bachman and her closeted hubby that option.
