After 135 days of no trades, no free agency, or straight up no football talk, it is time to get back to that. The NFLPA executive board and 32 player reps voted unanimously to approve the 10 year CBA. Last Thursday the owners approved the CBA 31-0 and even though the players were upset, they took the weekend to negotiate and finish out the deal. Here is the timetable for all 32 teams:
Monday- Teams go to 90 man rosters; official free agent list distributed to teams.
Tuesday- Trading begins, teams can sign rookies and undrafted free agents. Signed players can report to team facilities.
Wednesday- Training camp begins.
Thursday- Starting at 4 P.M. ET teams can cut players.
Friday- Teams can begin to file free agent signings to the league office.
August 4th- Deadline for union to re-certify.
It will no doubt be a crazy and hectic week for owners, GM's, and coaches. At the same time it will be really fun for the fans. The best part? We won't have to deal with this for another ten years. Time to get back to football. Later today I will show you what to expect from NFL Fan Talk for the coming up 2011 season.
