Seattle Rice

The Jets were smart enough to wrap up Santonio Holmes with a five year $50 million deal, which made former Vikings WR Sidney Rice the best WR on the market. That quickly went away as the Seahawks will sign Rice to a five year $41 million deal. The Seahawks had signed Rice's former teammate Tavaris Jackson after Matt Hasselbeck said he would sign with the Titans. Darrell Bevell, the former offensive coordinator of the Vikings, is also apart of the Seahawks coaching staff. There is a lot of familiar territory in Seattle, but none of this convinces me that the Seahawks are the division favorites. Once the Cardinals sign Kevin Kolb later in the week, the NFC West competition will narrow down between Arizona and the Rams. Not good news for a 49ers fan.
