Today the NFL lockout reached its 122nd day even though sources close to the situation say that a labor agreement is close to being done. Sources also say that the players and owners are aiming to finish that deal by July 21st at the owners meetings in Atlanta. If that happens, only the Hall of Fame game between the Rams and Bears would be in question. The only major issue that the owners and players are fighting over is the rookie wage scale. Both sides are trying to figure out how to structure a fifth year option for first round draft picks. If a deal is struck by next Thursday, teams would get a couple of days to re-sign free agents and undrafted free agents. Then a week later, free agency would begin. While this news seems good, I won't believe a deal is reached until the commish and NFLPA president shake hands on it.
